Perk

Privacy

This page is about the Perk website - the one you're on now. It's short, because the site does very little.

If you're looking for what happens to your brewing data, that's the app rather than this site. Open Perk at app.getperk.coffee and go to Settings, then Privacy Notice.

What this site records

Perk uses Umami to count visits. It records the page you looked at, roughly where in the world you are, what kind of device and browser you used, and which site sent you here if any.

It does not record your IP address, does not follow you to other websites, and does not build a profile of you. There is no way for anyone, including me, to work out that two visits came from the same person.

There is nothing to sign up for on this site and no form to fill in, so no email addresses or personal details are collected here at all.

Cookies

None. Umami works without them, which is the reason it was chosen. That's also why there's no cookie banner covering half the page.

Who else is involved

Two companies handle anything at all:

  • Netlify hosts the site. Like any web host, its servers briefly log incoming requests, including IP addresses, to keep the site running and fend off abuse.
  • Umami provides the visitor counting described above. Its data is stored in the EU.

Nobody else. Nothing from this site is sold, shared or passed on to anyone.

How long anything is kept

Visit counts are kept while they're useful and are only ever looked at in aggregate - how many people arrived, roughly where from. Netlify's own request logs are kept according to its schedule rather than mine.

Your rights

You have the right to ask what is held about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted.

Being straight with you: because this site records nothing that identifies you, there is realistically nothing here to find or remove. If you have used the app, that's a different question, and the privacy notice inside it covers that.

Getting in touch

Anything at all, including anything on this page: hello@getperk.coffee

I'm one person, so you'll get a reply from me rather than a support desk.
